Your Classroom in Your Pocket

Really just a new learning management system (LMS), Canvas has changed the way students and teachers connect with each other through its mobile-friendly abilities. With the new Canvas app, users can easily access all their favourite courses and groups from anywhere which means any space on earth can be considered as studying point.

An intuitive dashboard acts as the central hub of a platform, where learners will see what assignments they have coming up, easily participate in discussions and get real-time notifications. Canvas is an app which provide you almost every academic resources at tip of finger, essential for students running between classes or studying in coffee shops. Groups allows students to form links with other individuals for group projects and study sessions, extracurricular activities — all disconnected from a desktop computer.

What makes Canvas unique from other similar platforms is the fact that it syncs across devices seamlessly. Updates on mobile are reflected instantly in the web version to ensure continuity of learning. Also, the app allows users to view content offline which makes it handy for students with connectivity issues.

New Course Navigation in Canvas: A Smarter Way to Learn

Instructure has redesigned course navigation in Canvas to transform the online learning experience. The new interface, designed for clarity and simplicity, allows students as well as instructors to progress through their course work with minimal friction.

This new navigation is organized into neat, neatly labeled sections — like Modules, Assignments, Grades and Discussions— so the user always knows where to locate their goodies. Instead of hunting in nested menus to find everything, they are presented with a logical left-hand sidebar that follows the course along its natural flow. This decreasing cognitive load allows them to focus on learning, not logistics.

The intuitive layout means instructors are spending less time fielding navigation queries and more time in the classroom. Educators can also customize the navigation options by hiding unused tools, thus providing students with a streamlined view that shows only important materials.

The design continues to put accessibility first. With high-contrast visuals, keyboard-friendly controls and mobile-responsive formatting, it ensures that the navigation can be used on all devices or by users with a multitude of needs.

Canvas new course navigation is designed to minimize obstacles between the learner and their goals, by focusing on ease-of-use making online education feel less like a maze and more of clear path forward.

Getting a List of To-Dos in Canvas

Canvas by Instructure is a good defined Learning Management System to keep educators and students organized. I love its "To Do" list, which lists all upcoming assignments / quizzes and deadlines in one place.

Your upcoming to-do items can be found when you log into your Canvas dashboard. The "To Do" sidebar can be found on the right side of your homepage. This lists all your work that needs you attention, sorted by due date. They each contain the course and assignment name along with a specific deadline, which makes it simple to prioritize your workload.

To see more details, click on a specific to-do item and you will be directed straight away to the individual assignment page. You could read instructions, submit work or view grading criteria there. A "Coming Up" section beneath the to-do list gives you a preview of what lies ahead in terms events and announcements across all your active courses.

The to-do function is something that should also be utilized frequently so students can track their time and avoid missing deadlines. So you have one single place for academic planning to be sure nothing slips by on a busy semester.

Streamline Communication Across Courses and Groups with Canvas

The Canvas by Instructure solution is an online learning ecosystem that lives in the heart of these connections, where communication keeps students and instructors connected to each other. One of its main advantage is that you can communicate across courses and groups all in the same place, so there will be no need to switch between different pages.

Canvas Inbox—a built-in messaging system — lets users send content to direct messages in individual classes and instructors through all courses they are enrolled. Because this messaging happens relative to course context, students are able to avoid the pitfalls of main email: mixing messages from different classes and ending up confused or missing important communications. The Announcements aspect allows instructors to broadcast announcements school-wide in real-time, keeping everybody up-to-date.

Canvas Groups provide dedicated collaborative spaces for sharing files, participating in focused discussions and even coordinating projects privately between team members. The Discussion boards enhance academic engagement beyond the confines of course sections by supporting threaded conversations that traverse individual classes.

The true power of Canvas lies in its single notification system. Any new message, announcement and activity in groups received by users through real time alerts either via web interface or mobile app The cross-course connectivity creates a more connected environment for students managing their academic conversations with all that back and forth in one easy to access place.
