Getting Zangi Set Up on Any Device

Zangi requires just a few minutes to be installed, both on iOS and Android devices. The privacy features are the same for both versions and the decision is basically based on which platform is already at your disposal.

For iOS users:

1. Go to the App Store and type in “Zangi - Private Messenger.”

2. Tap on 'Get', then enter a Face ID, Touch ID or Apple ID password to confirm download.

3. After installing, open up the app and register as per the instructions on the screen.

4. If you want to make voice/video calls, please allow permission to access contacts, camera and microphone or else you can modify the permissions later in Settings.

5. Zangi automatically provides a private "Zangi Number" and never asks for any personal telephone number.

For Android users:

1. Run Google Play, and type "Zangi - Private Messenger".

2. Click "Install", and wait for the installation to complete (on most connections, this should take only a few seconds).

3. Install and run the application, filling in the brief registration screen.

4. Similar to iOS, there's no requirement to register by phone number at all, instead issuing a private identifier.

The app launches straight into a neat and tidy homepage for chat, contacts, calls and file sharing once you install it.

Turning Every Zangi Chat Into a Sealed Vault

Chatting works differently in Zangi, with privacy being the standard mode of operation, not an extras as it is in most apps. When a conversation starts, the encryption starts automatically behind the scenes, and there's no toggle for you to find and set prior to sending a message. All text, voice and calls go through a multiple layer security code system that starts with a secure handshake between the devices, followed by a constantly updated secured channel and concluded with end-to-end encryption only accessible to the sender and recipient.

To start a private conversation you simply type in a private chat conversation thread, as if you were chatting normally, but the security layer works in the background. Group chats are no different, too, and remain fully encrypted for all messages for each group of people, not just a reduced level for group sizes that are larger. Deletion of messages and files is permanent, meaning that if it's deleted on Zangi, there's no backup of any message on any other server. In this serverless setup, even Zangi keeps no record of the content of any messages—there's no one who can be compromised or subpoenaed with regard to chat histories.

Furthermore, you retain total control over your messages. You can edit messages after sending them, or utilize the "Delete for Everyone" feature, which wipes the selected message from both your device and the recipient's device instantly, leaving no trace.

How to Find Contacts on Zangi

Unlike such conventional apps as WhatsApp or Signal, there is no requirement to have a phone number to lookup contacts when using Zangi. Unless you take specific steps, you will not automatically get everyone in your phonebook who so happens to have the app.

The primary method for connecting is through the Zangi Private Number. This is the 10-digit code assigned to every user upon registration. To connect with someone securely, you must exchange these numbers outside of the app. Once you have their number, you can add them manually. Go to the "Contacts" tab, tap the "+" icon, and enter their Zangi Private Number to save them to your secure list.

If you wish to invite friends to join the platform, Zangi provides easy options. Within the "Contacts" or "Settings" sections, you can choose "Invite Friends". This allows you to send an automated invitation message via SMS (which will use your phone's standard messaging plan) or through any other sharing app on your device, containing a link to download Zangi.

You can also allow Zangi to access your native device contacts. By doing this, Zangi can determine whether anyone in your phonebook has registered their telephone number or e-mail with Zangi before. To verify, you can change the view on your Contacts list from "All Contacts" to "Zangi Contacts". Existing users will be identified with a unique Zangi label next to their name. Remember, for the highest level of privacy, sticking to the Zangi Private Number exchange is recommended.

Secure Your Files through Zangi’s Layers of Encryption

Using regular messaging applications to share files may entail going through a central server, which could record or examine data. Zangi takes this up a notch higher to ensure that your sensitive paperwork, photographs and media transfers are as safe as your text messages.

If you send a file through Zangi it is also encrypted with End-to-End Encryption as your chats. There is a further layer of security, though, that comes with Zangi: File Division. The app fragments the file into several smaller parts, shuffles them and then encrypts each small part individually on your device.

The segment pieces turn into coded bits which are then passed via temporary secure paths to a temporary repository. The decryption keys are never with Zangi. When the pieces are put on the receiver's device they are reattached and decrypted and the temporary files on the repository are automatically removed as soon as they have the pieces there. This way, you won't leave copies of files on a server.

In order to make use of this, open a conversation and click on the paperclip or "+" icon, then click "File". As big files and documents of various formats can be sent. Optimized by Zangi's protocols, the speed of the transfer is so fast that you can't even imagine. If your internet connection slows down in the middle of a large transfer, the download will resume automatically where it ended; it then restarts again.

Keeping Zangi Current and Protected

Temporary modifications are critical for a protection app such as Zangi, as new version may contain patches and security enhancements, bug fixes, and so on. Both main platforms make it easy to keep the app up to date.

On iOS:

1. Launch the App Store, and select the profile icon in the top right corner.

2. Scroll to Zangi and select it in the Pending updates list.

3. Tap "Update" alongside the app, or choose "Update All" if you wish to refresh multiple apps.

4. Zangi will automatically update itself without requiring manual intervention if automatic app store updates have been enabled in the iPhone's Settings.

On Android:

1. Open Google Play, tap on the profile icon and choose “Manage apps & device.”

2. Check if Zangi has any updates under "Updates available".

3. Click 'Update' next to the app name.

4. Once you have enabled auto-update for Zangi (under the three dot menu from the app page that you will see in the Play Store), the app will automatically update as new versions become available in the future.

Auto-update should be enough, but it's a smart idea to check for updates anyway—especially for people who use Zangi's privacy features every day.
